Dear Scootering magazine, This letter should prove that getting a good deal on a new scooter doesn't mean that the follow up will be good too. As a 50 year old MOD with the old "Arthur"(itis) getting in the hands, i decided to trade in my PX200 for an ET4 (no gears but still steel bodied). I got the best deal at a shop in Wakefield but, after waiting for accessories - screen, etc, for over two months, the old light went on in the brain. If they cannot get me after market parts in this amount of time what about if anything was to go wrong with the bike and i required major parts through warranty ?? So the first service came round and of i went to Ron Daley's in Barnsley. ( I have used him often for MOT's etc, and he's a top dealer 100% honest). He told me that there was hardly any oil in the transmission, the battery terminals were loose, kick start required repair under warranty. ( I'd never even used the kick start). "Ah those famous PDI checks" was told to me along with several tales of jobs that they'd picked up from this dealers scooters. Some of these involved the £180.00 touring kit that has been cut to fit properly and first services taking upto 3 hours to put things right. I have written to Piaggio to inform them of my dissatisfaction with my original dealers. Anyway, enough of the moans. I hope to get some runs in and the miles on the scooter. Just dont take the mickey because i've ditched my traditional scooter, after all i am still going strong on two wheels !!! Keep the faith.

However shortly afterwards circumstances at home arose, costing a lot of money to this end unfortunatley it was not possible to go ahead with this purchase. However my main point of this short letter is to thank you for all your assistance and time given to me, from detailed directions to your shop, to all the help and advice i could ever ask for whilst on the premises, please would you convey these compliments to your shop assistant Donald, his enthusiasm in his help was second to none, he must be a real asset to your business, i was also impressed with the layout of your shop. I would also like to point out that young Scott was our salesperson and i think he is one of the most decent fellas i have ever come across, nothing was too much trouble. I had to wait approximately 3 weeks for my Davida lid but as Scott pointed out it would be worth waiting for and i can confirm he was right. Dear Sir, I am writing to you to thank you for your excellent customer service that you have provided us with regarding the repair work carried out on my X9 500. I have beeen dealing with various Piaggio dealers over the years and have been dissapointed with previous service from other companies, this has meant that i have lost faith in the past,but your company has just restored that for me. I would like to thank you for the collection and delivery of the bike, the cheque of £117.50 towards my parking expenses and in particular thanks to Scott.L. who not only repaired my bike for me but also took the time to explain and demonstrate to me what the problem was on my bike. Please accept our thanks to everyone concerned in the repair work on my bike and also those who did all the arranging for this to happen. People are quick to write and complain when things go wrong, but we feel it necessary to write and thank you in this case. Let me warn all scooterists based in the North of England about a certain scooter dealer near me that I've had the misfortune to try and do business with. I went to buy a brand new Vespa PX 125. I paid the deposit and signed the finance forms and also had £500.00 in cash to spend on chrome and a Helmet. After five weeks of waiting and being told my bike was first in "Italy", then "Switzerland", then "Essex" and finally in the back of a lorry ready to be delivered, i spoke to a few members of Two Stroke Therapy S.C. They told me nothing but bad experiences they had had with this dealer. It was then i decided to ring the finance company who said they had released the money to the dealer weeks ago !! To say that they were concerned that i had no registration plate or chasis number on my finance papers was an understatement. Anyway, i got my deposit back and off i went to Ron Daley Scooters in Barnsley. What a difference !! I had my scooter within ten days of ordering with all the chrome and they even delivered it for me after i told them my sob story. Three words for Ron Daley : Reliable, Honest, Professional !! So thanks to Motor Finance Company, Ron Daley Scooters and Two Stroke Therapy SC.

Hi to the Staff at Ron Daley Scooters. I have just recently purchased a Piaggio Zip 50 scooter from you.This was delivered this morning, at 10.00 a.m, to our home in Stratford upon Avon. The initial order was placed via the net, followed by telephone conversations, all conducted in a most professional manner. The staff i dealt with Scott and Chris were attentive and responsive to my needs, great ambassadors for their company. The scooter was for my wife, her views on delivery follow.... As a female, aged over 50, i was absolutely delighted by the delivery service provided by you. I expected the scooter to arrive via a courier,to be parked outside and that was that. BUT... i was so pleased with the personal service you provided.A really friendly man delivered the scooter and took me through all the delivery information with calm authority and treated me so well. He explained all the things that i needed to know, slowly and in terminology i could clearly understand; so reassuring; thank you. I ceartainly didn't expect the facility of trying on a helmet and gloves for size then both items to be free of charge. As it is raining in sunny Stratford,yet again, i haven't had the pleasure of trying out the scooter, but i know that when i do, there will be no mysteries for me to worry about- even a place for the lipstick, comb and mobile phone !!!!! To whom it may concern, I desperately required parts ( spare wheel, plug, pillion footrests and rear crashbars) for my PX before a weekend away at Scarbrough and living miles away from your shop i decided to use mail order. The parts came next day delivered before 12.00 p.m, boxed and neatly wrapped exactly as i had requested. I fitted the parts well before the weekend, due to recieving them so quick, and had a great weekend break with all the lads. Great service from start to finish, i cannot recommend you enough.
