As the biggest Vespa party in history gets underway in Rome, Piaggio is proud to present a very special 80th anniversary model.
As every Vespisti knows, this year marks the 80th birthday of a true Italian icon, and to celebrate that anniversary a very special edition has been unveiled in Rome. Only 1,946 examples of the Edizione Ottantesimo will ever be produced, the limited edition number corresponding to the year of Vespa’s birth.
Based on the GTS 310, the edition’s matt metallic grey livery recalls raw steel, transforming it into a textured, elegant finish. This intense base is paired with the energy of green, featured on the seat, wheels and dedicated graphics as a reference to the earliest Vespa models.
Included with Vespa Edizione Ottantesimo is a special dedicated helmet, designed to reflect the vehicle’s aesthetic identity. The shell echoes the textured grey bodywork, with a matt finish and green details. On the back, the number 80 reprises the three-dimensional graphic featured on the side panels, completing the coordinated look of this special edition.
Unfortunately, we can’t help you to secure one of these and pre-booking for Vespa Edizione Ottantesimo is available online from 25 June 2026 until 10:00 PM on 28 June 2026. Reservations will be managed on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the order in which the accreditation process is completed.
Members of Vespa Clubs registered for the Vespa World Club event ‘VESPA ROMA 2026 – 80 Years of an Icon’ will be granted priority. Should the number of applications exceed the number of available Vespa Edizione Ottantesimo units, the same first-come, first-served criterion will also apply to them. Experience shows that any limited edition models are snapped up very quickly, with the majority being purchased by collectors. However, if you want to celebrate this important birthday we’ve still got a couple of the official 80th anniversary models, (both 310 and Primavera ) available. As with the Edizione Ottantesimo, this is scheme that wont be repeated but is far more friendly to your wallet!
